TWO GLASSES OF WINE

Filed under: Motivation, Thoughts, World, World Peace, tips — Tags: , , — johnnytan88 @ 6:26 pm

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle,
when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and
the 2 glasses of wine theory…

A professor stood before his philosophy class with some
items on his desk in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly,
he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill
it with golf balls.

He then asked the students if the jar was full. They
agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured
them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into
the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if
the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it
into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked
once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous
“YES.”

The professor then produced two glasses of wine from
under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar,
effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.

“Now,” said the professor, as the laughter subsided, “I
want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf
balls are the important things; your family, your children, your health,
your friends, and your favorite passions; things that if everything else
was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your
job, your house, and your car. The sand is everything else; the small
stuff.

If you put the sand into the jar first”, he continued,
“there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for
life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you
will never have room for the good things that are important to you.
Pay attention to the things that are critical to your
happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups.
Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18 holes. Do one more
run down the ski slope. There will always be time to clean the house and
fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first; the things that
really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.”

One of the students raised her hand and
inquired what the wine represented.

The professor smiled. “I’m glad you asked. It
just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem,
there’s always room for a couple of glasses of wine with a friend.”

Can and will the people of Malaysia trust “the manifesto”?

Soon the people of Malaysia will start to vote.

Political parties are trying their best to win people hearts.

One of them are coming out with a manifestos.

You can have hundred or even thousand of manifestos to convince the people to support the party.

Why is the manifesto were prepared only during the election campaign?

Didn’t it look very obvious that the parties are trying hard to make promises that might not come true if they won? We have made the wrong choice because

1) Equality. We have given the privilege to our own kind rather than asking them to compete equally will all fairly.

2) Fairness. Special privilege that we gives out to our own kind has made us become lazy.

3) One. We have made schools & universities become the education of racism. Why? Because we have Sekolah Kebangsaan Melayu, Cina & India. Whereby can’t we have one type of school, which we call it, Sekolan Kebangsaan?

4) Solution. We have created so many departments; sections, division & etc that we have increase the problems rather than solving it.

5) Employment. Crime rates have gone up. Even university fresh graduates are too choosy to work because they complaint the pay is too low. The unemployed rather stay at home sleep & eat. Once they are running out of money, they have to steal, snatch & cheat. Is this the pride of Malaysia made of?

6) Truth. We have been talking about the pride of Malaysia? When I switched on the TV, they told me a story. When I surfed on the Internet, they told me another story. Those images & videos tell the truth.

7) Safe. I don’t think I have any value as a Malaysian if I can’t walk on the street feeling safe. I don’t think I am proud as a Malaysian, if one of us has to steal for food.

8) Love. Where did we go wrong? This is the question that all of us have been asking? Are religions making us to hate? No any religions in this world ask us to hate but we have created hate. There are still a human (or a beast) that willing to kill thousands of innocent in the name of religion.

9) Learn. We still have a long way to go. If we only compares to ourselves, yes we are the best. But if we compare ourselves with the others, we are nothing but tiny ants.

10) Life & Death. At the end. Some of us will be buried six feet under and some of us would like to be cremated. We will meet our maker & we will know the truth. Let’s us stop fighting & forget our differences. Yes, let us make this world a better place for our children to live.

I found God..

I found God

When I see those children die of hunger

God asked me, don’t I gave you enough?

By giving you a home where you can shelter

Whereby someone is sleeping on an open sky

By giving you protectors that you called mum and dad

Whereby some orphanages are praying for a mum and dad

By putting the food on the table

Whereby some children are dying without food

By giving you an extra clothes to wear when you are cold

Whereby someone got no cloth to wear

By providing you education for you an able to read and learn

Whereby someone does not know how to read this message

Whereby someone still does not learn from this message

God asked me, don’t I give you enough?

Who is Jesus? He’s three people, says Deepak Chopra..

Filed under: Religion, World, World Peace — johnnytan88 @ 9:00 am

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Who is Jesus? According to spiritual guru Deepak Chopra, there are three interpretations.

In his book “The Third Jesus,” published this week, Chopra says there is a “sketchy historical figure,” a second “abstract theological creation” and a third Jesus with the highest level of enlightenment — what Chopra calls God-consciousness.

“I want to offer the possibility that Jesus was truly, as he proclaimed, a savior,” Chopra wrote. “Not the savior, not the one and only Son of God. Rather Jesus embodied the highest level of enlightenment.

“He spent his brief adult life describing it, teaching it, and passing it on to future generations,” he said. “Jesus intended to save the world by showing others the path to God-consciousness.”

Chopra, author of more than 50 books and head of the spiritual group Alliance for a New Humanity, describes God-consciousness as “a metaphor for a shift in consciousness that makes Jesus’s teachings totally real and vital.”

He said he began searching for the third Jesus as a child attending a Catholic Irish missionary school in India after being fascinated by what he described at the “most interesting, romantic, passionate, spiritual story of all time.”

“Yet I was struck by the fact that my friends, who were part of the Church, had been indoctrinated into a belief system where guilt was actually a virtue and I couldn’t quite come to terms with that,” Chopra told Reuters in an interview.

“I said to myself there must be a third Jesus, a state of consciousness that I can actually relate to, and I started to really study the New Testament and the Bible,” he said.

EAST MEETS WEST

Chopra paints this third Jesus as one of both Eastern and Western spirituality.

“Leave aside the differences in the language of it — they are all talking about the same thing,” he said. “So I hope in the very least it will contribute to some healing of the rift in our collective soul, which is the cause of all the wars and all the problems we’re having today.”

Chopra said the Jesus created by the Catholic Church was confusing because although the religion had done a lot of good in the world, it had also taken part “in the Crusades, in witch hunts, in burning people on the stake, homophobia, depriving women of their rights, all kinds of things.”

“The present day crisis in Christianity is it’s bogged down in issues like — what would Jesus do? They make pronouncements on things like abortion, women’s rights, homophobia, stem cell research — nothing to do with Christ,” he said.

“It influences our politics, it influences our national policy, it influences whether we go to war or not in the name of God,” he said. “It’s inanity of the utmost extreme.”

Chopra said he hoped readers would take away a practical way to understand the New Testament and understand that engaging in contemplative meditation can lead to positive change.

“Everything changes for the good,” he said. “The way we think, the way we behave, the way we feel, the way we have our personal relationships, our social interactions, our environment all changes in an evolutionary direction because we have shifted in our own consciousness.”

And that, he said “is precisely what is meant by the kingdom of heaven is within you.”

Trust (Part II)..

At last, I have read the letter that I sent to my buddy in Australia in 1997.

I, myself forget what it was like to write a letter & using snail mail.

The ten years old letter reflex back what kind of a man I was and what kind of a man I am now.

To fall in love with the same girl with my best friend. Betrayal from my best friend.

Looking back in time and fast-forward it to now, I started to believe divine interventions has every reason to play a role in my life.

Of course, the girl now is my best friend’s wife now.

But looking both of them together, which I thank myself making the right choice; to let go.

Knowing that sometime at that very moment you think that life have been unfair to you but life is actually trying to help you.

You hurt someone else in the process, which now you tend to regret.

Blaming others for not understand you. Isolate yourself in the real world. Crying over nothing. At the end, you just brush yourself up and walk again.

I am happy man now. At least I know that I am happier than 10 years back.

These 10 years learning process has it own toll to pay but it is worth it.

Lesson #1: Help yourself first if you want to help others.

Lesson #2: Don’t think that every friend is your friend.

Lesson #3: Choose few good friends to keep.

Lesson #4: Never hurt others if you don’t want to hurt yourself.

And the rest of the world can kiss my a**! ~ Eminem

Thank you my friend for the letter.

A close friend of my just called me up and told me he found a letter which I wrote to him 10 years ago.

The first thing that caught my mind was it a good or bad letter.

He told me he would show it to me when we meet up tomorrow.

He gave me some hints on what’s in the letter but the main point is about trusting someone. Over 10 years, trusting someone is still hard to do.

Even with 30 years of experience, you thought that you know a person and at the end they betrayed you.

Anyway, tomorrow we will have our school reunion. The last time we I saw some of my friends were 17 - 20 years ago.

Well, look how time has passed us by? From New Kid on the Block to the real Hangin’ Tough world.

Life has not been an easy ride for me. Thinking back about what I have done and what I have not done.

Learning to be patience is the best test of time. Knowing that you wanted to buy some thing so bad but you couldn’t afford it until you have enough saving to have it. But when you have enough saving to have it, you just don’t want it anymore.

Thanking to those few people in life that changed the way you think about the world. To those few persons that made you a better man.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Neither Gold nor silver will ever be enough to pay you all with the wisdom that you have given me.

Lesson #1: It is alright to be disappointed. Life is always about disappointment but don’t stop believing in yourself. Prove to the world that they are wrong.

PS: I went to Genting last months with my two good buddies which both of them have kids. 20 years back we were so crazy about Genting, we were so crazy about the roller coaster write, can’t wait to get old enough to enter casino.

But now, it is the children time to have good time. As parents, we had to watch some of our kids nagging wanted to go in the rides. We have to go and change the tokens for the rides.
