Leadership: What kind of Manager are you? ®

We all don’t have to be a manager to lead.

We all don’t have to be on top to lead.

Most of the manager does not have the criteria to lead.  Some managers do not fit to lead but still become a manager in an organization due to their time in an organization. Project were given to the manger to complete but due to lack of experience, the project we given down to subordinates.

When the project succeeded, the manager takes all the credit but when the project failed, the manager blames it on the subordinate. When the subordinate resigned, the manager will give excuse that the project cannot be completed or failed due to resignation of the subordinate.

The ‘not-fit’ manager will not be worried because they can blame it on the previous employee for failing the project. When the new employee comes in, it is a new time frame. A project has been changing hand to hand from previous employee to new employee.

What is the manager have been doing? God knows! The word manager means to manage.  The manager needs to manage the activities of his/herself and the activities of subordinates. Instead of giving the project to subordinate that the manager does not know about.

When the director of the organization asked the progress of the project, the manager is unable to answer. And the funny part is, whenever the manager cannot answer to the directors, the manager will come back to the subordinate and blame the subordinate for not keeping him/her updated.

I realized that some top management does not care about the well being of their employees.  Top management is happy just as long as they hit the company’s objective or goal. Unrealistic cost saving!

All the “black spot” have been covered up so well that the directors of company does not realized it; until someone is dare enough to leak it, just like the ENRON case.
