10 Tips: To Succeed in Job Interview ®

1. Be yourself

Don’t try to be somebody you are not. Don’t act like you know all the answer to everything.

2. Be prepared

If you really want to ace in the job interview, try to find as much information of the company. The more you know, the more impress the interviewer will get.

3. Practice your speech

You need to control your voice to ensure it is not to soft & not to loud.

4. Dress well

Make sure that you dress for an interview not for clubbing or partying.

5. On time

Try to be at the venue 15 minutes early. Not too early as interviewer will think that you are too free. Not to be late as interviewer will think that your time management is bad.

 6. Greet

Always greet the interviewer with a smile, a good hand shake, a hello & introduce yourself even though he/she is holding your resume on this hand.

7. Ask Question

Ask at least intelligent question to the interviewer. E.g.: what is the company’s goal or objective?

8. Straight to the point

When interviewer asks you a question, try to answer as simply as possible & straight to the point. If you don’t know the answer, just tell the interviewer that you don’t know the answer and you are willing to find out right after the interview.

9. Follow up

After two weeks if you don’t get a reply, call them up if you really want the job. Maybe they have misplaced your resume somewhere.

10. Thank you

Lastly, after the interview finished, don’t forget to say ‘thank you’ and hope the interviewer have a nice day.

Bonus:

Tip on how you want to know if the company has a high employment turnover?

Before you step in to the company, you might notice that there is security guard. Try to make friend with them, introduce yourself and tell them you are here for an interview. Offer them a cigarette or sweets (if you’re not a smoker)

After the interview, try to look for the same security guard that you get acquaintance, tell him that your interview just finished and you wanted to say goodbye. At the same time, ask him whether he has seen many people come and go in this company.
